Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?
Frequently Asked Questions below!
We would love for you to be involved. Here's some frequently asked questions about the program.
1. What is “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”
It’s a fun, relationship-building event where participants are randomly grouped to share a meal together. Hosts open their homes, and guests are assigned to a host — but the surprise is that no one knows who they’ll be dining with until they arrive!
2. How do I sign up?
Complete the sign-up form indicating whether you’d like to host or be a guest. Provide contact information, household size, and any dietary restrictions.
3. Can I sign up as both a host and a guest?
You can select one role per event. If we have more hosts than needed, we may ask hosts if they’re open to participating as guests instead.
4. What are the responsibilities of a host?
Hosts provide a welcoming environment, prepare the main portion of the meal, and share any final details. A simple, comfortable setting is perfectly fine.
5. What are the responsibilities of a guest?
Guests show up, bring any optional requested items (such as a side or dessert), and enjoy fellowship.
6. When will I know who I’m dining with?
You’ll find out when you arrive! You will receive the address of your host a few days before.
7. Will my address or contact information be shared?
No. Only the coordinator and your assigned guests will receive your information if you’re hosting.
8. Can families with children participate?
Yes! Indicate on your form if children will attend so hosts can prepare appropriately.
9. What if I have dietary restrictions?
List them on the sign-up form. We’ll match you with a host who can best accommodate your needs.
10. How long does the dinner last?
Typically, 1.5 to 2 hours, though hosts may set specific timeframes.
11. What if I need to cancel?
Contact the event coordinator as soon as possible so adjustments can be made.
12. Do I need to be a church member?
No—everyone is welcome!
13. Will transportation be provided?
If you need help, note it in your sign-up. We’ll try to match you with someone who can assist.
14. Can I request to be placed with certain people?
To keep the surprise element, we do not take placement requests.
